1. Data protection regulations

The Euregio Meuse-Rhine respects your personal rights.
This includes the right to privacy, which is guaranteed by Article 22 of the Belgian Constitution and Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

The Euregio Meuse-Rhine processes your data in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation / GDPR).

With this in mind, the Euregio Meuse-Rhine treats all personal data in accordance with the following principles:

  • Legality, good faith
  • Earmarking
  • Proportionality
  • Accurate and up to date
  • Time limit for a specific purpose
  • Confidentiality and data security

The following rights are granted to you by the GDPR:

  • The right to information. If data about you is collected directly from you or from another source, you have the right to be clearly informed about who is processing your data, what data is being processed and for what purpose (Articles 12 – 14).
  • The right to access the personal data that an institution holds about you (Article 15).
  • The right to rectification. If personal data that an organization has about you is incorrect, you have the right to request that it be corrected or completed (Article 16).
  • The right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) allows you to request the erasure of your personal data if you no longer wish it to be processed and the institution no longer has a legitimate reason to retain it. (Article 17).
  • The right to restriction of processing: Under certain conditions, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted (Article 18).
  • The right to data portability: Under certain conditions, you have the right to receive back personal data that you have provided to us and to make it available to other organizations. (Article 20).
  • The right to object: In certain cases, you can object to the further processing of your personal data if this is no longer justified by the performance of public tasks or interests worthy of protection.
  • If you can prove your identity, you as the data subject have the right to receive the following information about your data upon request in accordance with Article 15:
  • information as to whether or not data concerning you is being processed;
  • Information about the purposes of this processing;
  • Information about the categories of data that are the subject of processing;
  • Information about the categories of recipients to whom data may be transferred;
  • if possible, the planned duration of the data processing;
  • Information about the origin of the data if it was not provided by you;
  • Information about the possibility of lodging a complaint with the data protection authority.

Furthermore, the provisions of the decree of October 16, 1995 on the publicity of administrative documents are applicable.

2. the content of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine website

Each time a user accesses the website and each time a file is retrieved, data about this process is temporarily stored and processed in a log file:

  • IP address
  • Dwell time
  • Browser and hardware usage
  • Date and time
  • Pages accessed
  • Call sequence
  • Search words
  • Entry pages
  • Exit pages
  • Provider
  • Country of origin

This data is collected exclusively for the quality assurance of our website. It is not used for any other purpose or passed on to third parties. When individual pages are accessed, temporary cookies are used to facilitate navigation.
