StädteRegion Aachen

The Education Office of the StädteRegion Aachen organises networking and cooperation at the interface of formal and non-formal education. A core element is the field of action ‘Vocational education and career guidance’. Since 2012, the ‘Municipal Coordination Office for the Transition from School to Work in NRW’ has been shaping the (digital) networking and cooperation between educational institutions, labour market players and the school supervisory authorities. The core tasks include designing and implementing training courses for teachers, creating pedagogical and didactic materials and organising events for stakeholders in the education sector along the education chain.

The Education Office of the StädteRegion Aachen is contributing its network and extensive expertise in vocational education, career guidance and the dual training system, which is unique in the world. In particular, the Education Office will be involved in the creation and implementation of a digital information brochure for teachers and student counsellors, the script for Euregional careers guidance and the (co-)development of didactic material for the VR tours. Teachers and pupils from a total of 61 secondary schools and 8 vocational colleges will thus be able to organise and actively experience cross-border orientation themselves and network with euregional schools and companies.
